ABOUT DR. VAN ZANT
Dr. Van Zant grew up in a small town in Indiana where she found her love and connection with animals through her grandma, LouAnn, who had a total of five indoor/outdoor cats that Dr. Van Zant loved dearly. So at a young age, she decided to become a veterinarian and in 2018 she graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to study acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and food therapy at Chi University. Dr. Van Zant believes optimal health can be achieved through a holistic approach and she is excited to offer this for your pet.
OUR SERVICES
01. CONCIERGE ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture uses fine-gauged needles that are placed into the skin (and just slightly below) to stimulate the flow of Qi and blood throughout the body and the body’s organs.
02. DRY NEEDLE ACUPUNCTURE
Dry needle acupuncture uses sterile acupuncture needles placed strategically into acupuncture points on the body.
03. AQUAPUNCTURE
Liquid B12 is placed under the skin at specific acupuncture points to stimulate the points for an extended period of time (up to 3+days).
04. HEMOACUPUNCTURE
A sharp needle is quickly inserted into the tip of the ear or tail to release heat from the body and improve circulation. This is rare and only done for very limited circumstances.
05. ELECTROACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture needles are placed at specific points on the body and electrodes are placed onto the needles. The intensity (hertz/hz/amount of electricity pulsed through) is determined by the disease being treated. Please let us know if your pet has a history of seizures, heart disease, metal implants, or a pacemaker placed prior to the appointment as electroacupuncture is contraindicated in these patients.
